Abstract
Bazaars are one of the important and influential elements in Iranian-Islamic cities. They have been the cornerstone of the formation of civil life in the past and have multiple social, economic, and political functions. As a result of the emergence of the new economic system, shopping centers replaced the Bazaars, which were not following the Islamic lifestyle. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the possible scenarios and provide a suitable understanding of the related literature along with the identification of the desirable criteria of the Bazaar and commercial centers from an Islamic perspective to develop the Bazaar following Islamic values. The current study, with a Futuristic Thinking approach and scenario planning method, tries to identify possible scenarios by the superior factors identified through the review of redefined criteria based on Islamic texts and also through a questionnaire in the historical Bazaar and modern commercial centers in Tabriz Metropolitan. According to the review of the redefined criteria and Islamic principles, the findings show that the criterion of Dhikr and Worship (Note) and the criterion of order and social participation, and the correct pattern of consumption in the historical Bazaar of Tabriz had the highest points compared to other criteria compared to modern commercial centers. These criteria are the main drivers for presenting scenarios that can affect the future of commercial centers to achieve a favorable situation based on the Islamic lifestyle. The stable situation scenario was selected from among four Scenario Writing patterns.
